I'm the Rachel behind the camera at Rachel Kost Photography! I'm a business major and Accountant who loves numbers and all the nerdy stuff but also has a true love for the arts. I don't just create pretty pictures- I have a knack for customer service, the techy stuff, and just plain running a business! I'm a mom to my sweet little Hallie, and wife to my wonderful husband, Tanner, who supports me in this crazy journey like anyone would ever dream of. Based in North Dakota + the upper Midwest, I love capturing couples wandering everywhere from wide open fields to artsy downtown architecture and everything in between.

If you're looking for a perfect mix of posed + candid shots, you've come to the right place! I like to describe my shooting style as combination documentary, lifestyle, and fine art. What does that mean? I'll pose you and get your most flattering angles in a timeless way, while also mixing in some fun prompts to get those candid moments and true emotion + personality that we all live for! I'm also super detail-oriented and great at paying attention to little moments, which helps me document the real, raw memories that naturally unfold throughout the day- no posing or prompts needed. I've been a creative, artsy soul my entire life- so you can count on me to turn any moment into a piece of true art, rather than just taking a picture.

My editing style has a warm, creamy feel with earthy-toned greens. I tend to gravitate toward even lighting situations for the majority of your gallery, however I LOVE a good moody shot and will sprinkle some moody magic in there if certain lighting situations inspire me throughout the day. I might throw in some trendy edits to keep up with the times just for fun, but the majority of your galleries will consist of timeless art that you can love and hang on your walls forever, no matter the current trend. The two things I always strive for in my photography is to keep the environmental and skin tone hues as close to how they naturally occurred as possible, and to give a smooth finish with a pop that accentuates the beauty of the moment.
